As of Tuesday, May 13, the University of Pisa\u2019s new institutional portal (<a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www-test.unipi.it\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener\" data-start=\"447\" data-end=\"459\">www.unipi.it<\/a>) is online. The site has undergone a major redesign as part of the University\u2019s strategy to improve communication and interaction with both the academic community and the wider public.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"646\" data-end=\"1206\">\u201cThe new website,\u201d said Vice Rector and Communication Delegate <strong>Giuseppe Iannaccone<\/strong>, \u201cis an important step in renewing the University\u2019s communication approach. We wanted to create a tool that is accessible, clear, and dynamic\u2014not just a source of information, but also a showcase for the activities and values of the University of Pisa. The portal aims to be a reference point for those seeking services and opportunities, but also a channel for dialogue with society, the region, and the academic world, in line with our mission of openness and inclusivity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"646\" data-end=\"1206\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-140063 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www-test.unipi.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/home_oriz-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1208\" data-end=\"1244\"><strong data-start=\"1208\" data-end=\"1244\">A modern and accessible platform<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1246\" data-end=\"1633\">The new website is designed to offer an optimal user experience, with intuitive navigation and a clean, modern layout. Special attention was given to mobile access, ensuring smooth browsing on smartphones and tablets. Among the main updates is the introduction of expandable mega menus that make it easier to navigate the site, as well as individual pages dedicated to all staff members.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1635\" data-end=\"1680\"><strong data-start=\"1635\" data-end=\"1680\">A magazine to tell the University\u2019s story<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1682\" data-end=\"2061\">Alongside the website redesign, a new online magazine called <em data-start=\"1743\" data-end=\"1754\">Unipinews<\/em> has been launched, created to share the life of the University of Pisa in a dynamic and engaging way. Through articles, interviews, and reports, the magazine will highlight research activities, cultural events, student and faculty success stories, and international collaborations involving the University.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2063\" data-end=\"2088\"><strong data-start=\"2063\" data-end=\"2088\">A user-driven project<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2090\" data-end=\"2503\">The redesign of the website and the launch of the magazine were the result of a design process focused on user experience. Tests were conducted with internal and external users following a User Experience (UX) approach, to understand audience needs and expectations. This work generated valuable feedback that guided the project and helped create digital tools that are more effective and aligned with user needs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2505\" data-end=\"2531\"><strong data-start=\"2505\" data-end=\"2531\">A collaborative effort<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2533\" data-end=\"2844\">The project was carried out by the University of Pisa\u2019s Communications Office, IT System, CLI (Centro Linguistico di Ateneo), and other relevant departments, with consulting support from Ubics, the Digital Experience Agency of Var Group.
