The Disciplinary Board is responsible for conducting the investigation phase of disciplinary proceedings against university lecturers and researchers. It respects the adversarial process and guarantees the right of defence. It operates on the principle of judgement by peers.<\/p>\n

At the end of the preliminary investigation, which is initiated by the Rector, the Disciplinary Board issues a binding opinion on the facts which may lead to the imposition of sanctions more severe than a reprimand.<\/p>\n

The Disciplinary Board is established at each university in accordance with Law 240\/2010, which decentralised the management of disciplinary procedures for university lecturers and researchers to the universities.<\/p>\n

The procedures for setting up the Disciplinary Board are laid down in Article 20 of the Statute<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Members are currently being appointed.<\/span><\/span>
\n<\/span>
\nThe Board consists of 7 members, including 3 full professors, 2 associate professors and 2 researchers and the same number of deputy members, all of whom are permanent and full-time.<\/p>\n

Members of the Board shall hold office for three academic years and shall not be eligible for immediate re-election or appointment for a second term.<\/p>\n
