She received a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pisa in 2003. In 2006, she was a visiting research associate at the Center for Excellence in Tissue Engineering, Rice University, Houston, TX. She received a PhD in Health Technologies as a participant of the Center for Excellence in Computer Assisted Surgery (ENDOCAS), Medicine Faculty, University of Pisa, in 2007. Her postdoctoral training was performed at the Center for the Clinical Use of Stem Cells (CUCCS) and at the Otorhinolaryngology Unit, Department of Neurosciences\/Surgical, Medical and Molecular Pathology, University of Pisa. She is Team Leader at OtoLab (Cisanello Hospital, Pisa) and has been Affialte Researcher at the BioRobotics Institute (Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, Pontedera, PI) and at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, MA. Her research interest relies on smart biomaterial approaches for pathology resolution, in particular ear, bone and cancer. <br \/>\r\n ********<br \/>\r\nLa Dr.ssa Serena Danti svolge la sua attivit\u00e0 di ricerca nel settore dei biomateriali per lo sviluppo di dispositivi in sistemi biologici meccanicamente ed elettricamente sollecitati (osso, orecchio, muscolo) utilizzando materiali avanzati e micro- e nano-tecnologie. Attualmente coordina il gruppo di ricerca e le attivit\u00e0 scientifiche del laboratorio OtoLab (Ospedale di Cisanello, Pisa), di cui \u00e8 responsabile il Prof. Stefano Berrettini, riguardanti principalmente applicazioni di ingegneria tissutale, cellule staminali per le patologie dell\u2019udito. E\u2019 stata Affiliate Researcher presso l\u2019Istituto di Biorobotica della Scuola Superiore Sant\u2019Anna (Pisa) e presso il Dipartimento di Ingegneria Civile ed Ambientale del Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, MA. E' docente del Programma di Dottorato di Ricerca in Scienze Cliniche e Traslazionali dell'Universit\u00e0 di Pisa.<br \/>\r\n<br \/>\r\n- Laurea in Ingegneria Chimica indirizzo Materiali presso l\u2019Universit\u00e0 di Pisa, e conseguimento dell\u2019abilitazione alla professione di Ingegnere (2003).<br \/>\r\n- Contrattista presso la Facolt\u00e0 di Ingegneria per quanto riguarda la preparazione e caratterizzazione di materiali polimerici bioattivi, lo sviluppo di dispositivi per il rilascio di farmaci e la caratterizzazione di membrane per elettrodi in tessuto (anni 2003-2005). <br \/>\r\n- Visiting Research Associate presso il Center for Excellence in Tissue Engineering, Rice University, Houston, TX, USA (2006) (prof. A.G.
